Engagement Sessions

These sessions are a great way to capture your love and help everyone get to know each other better, making things more comfortable before the big day.

Engagement sessions are the perfect way for us to get to know you and for you to become comfortable with our approach, our style, and being in front of the camera.
While the wedding day can feel fast-paced and formal, your engagement session is intentionally designed to be relaxed, natural, and fun - giving us the space to create images that feel authentic to your relationship and your story. It’s completely normal to feel a little nervous or stiff at first. Most people do!

But once you’ve had a chance to settle into the experience and understand how effortlessly we guide you through posing and direction, you’ll be surprised by how comfortable and confident you feel. By the time your wedding day arrives, being photographed will feel second nature.

Formal or Day After Sessions

These sessions are an excellent option if you want more time and control over couple portraits in your wedding attire, whether it's before the wedding day or the day after.

Formal, Day-After, and Adventure Sessions are the perfect opportunity to create stunning portraits of you both in your wedding attire without the pressures and time constraints of the wedding day.

These sessions allow us to explore beautiful locations, including unique or high-adventure spots that simply aren’t accessible on the wedding day and create artwork that can be displayed at your wedding or enjoyed as heirloom prints for years to come.

Because wedding days are fast-paced and emotionally full, there is often very little time for formal portraits. Scheduling this session separately gives you the freedom to focus on the moments that matter most while still capturing elevated, magazine-worthy images of the two of you.

Investment

Do you have a deposit and is it refundable?

The $500 deposit is included in the collection prices. This deposit is non-refundable and is required at the time of booking. It serves to reserve the date and time of the session or wedding exclusively for you. Should you choose to cancel, the deposit may be applied to any session scheduled within the same calendar year as the original date.

Can we bring people to engagement, bridal or portrait session?

We recommend bringing additional individuals only if you believe their presence is essential for the session, such as a hair and makeup artist or stylist. Including parents often increases stress for both you and us. If you feel someone should be present, it is important that you are completely comfortable with their attendance. Their role will be strictly observational, allowing us to perform our duties as we deem appropriate. They should not interrupt our process and must allow us the freedom to create and capture the moments you have entrusted to us.

Does it cost to have you travel?

Travel is included within the mileage range noted in each collection.
For weddings or sessions beyond that radius, I provide a simple, transparent travel quote based on mileage and destination.
Every quote includes all travel needed for your date round-trip miles, lodging if necessary, and any logistical considerations. You’ll always know the full cost ahead of time so planning is easy and stress-free.

How many images can we expect from our wedding or engagement session?

I focus on delivering a beautifully curated collection of images that tell the full story of your day without overwhelming you with duplicates or unnecessary frames.

While the final number varies based on your timeline, events, and guest count, couples typically receive a few hundred thoughtfully edited wedding images and 20–40 from an engagement or portrait session.

My priority is always quality, storytelling, and emotional impact, not hitting a specific number. You’ll receive every meaningful moment, every connection, and every detail that helps tell your story.

How long until we can expect to see our photos from our wedding or session?

Your full wedding gallery will be viewed during your ordering appointment within 9 weeks, although most couples see their images closer to their one-month anniversary.

I also send a beautifully curated set of sneak peeks shortly after the wedding so you have something meaningful to enjoy right away.

Albums are delivered within 4–6 weeks after design approval, and fine-art prints typically arrive within 1–2 weeks.

What do we do if it’s bad weather at our portrait session or wedding day?

Some of the most beautiful, dramatic images are created in moody weather, so a little rain or cloud cover is never a problem. However, if the forecast calls for dangerous or extreme conditions, we’ll simply reschedule your portrait session to the earliest available date and time.

On the wedding day, we adapt.
I scout alternative indoor and covered areas, use creative lighting, and find beautiful locations that work in any conditions. No matter the weather, you’ll still receive artwork you love.

Do your prices include tax?

Prices listed in this guide do not include 7.25% Utah state sales tax, but tax will be included in the invoice.

Can you shoot just our engagement or bridal session if you're not available for our wedding?

Absolutely, I offer standalone engagement and bridal/formal sessions even if I’m not photographing your wedding. These sessions are a wonderful way to create artwork for your home, announcements, or heirloom prints.

Do you retain copyright? Does that mean we can’t share the photos?

Yes, I retain copyright to all images, which is standard for professional photographers. This simply ensures your artwork is protected and preserved exactly as it was created.

You receive full personal-use rights, which means you’re welcome to:

✅ Post them to social media
✅ Send them to friends and family
✅ Save, download, and enjoy your images anytime

Copyright only prevents the images from being altered, resold, or used commercially - it never stops you from enjoying or sharing your memories.

I don’t provide full print releases because professional printing is part of the artwork experience. I want your images printed on archival materials with accurate color and rich detail so they can be enjoyed for decades. Consumer labs can’t guarantee that level of quality.
However, every image you purchase as wall art includes a matching high-resolution digital file, along with permission to print that specific image for personal use. This ensures you always have a digital archival copy of the artwork you invest in.

Can we have the unedited images or RAW files?

Photography Remembered don't release RAW files or unedited images. A RAW file is similar to a film negative - it’s not meant to be viewed or used as-is. It requires professional editing to bring out accurate color, proper exposure, and the artistic style that makes your images look like the photographers portfolio.

You will receive a curated, fully edited gallery that includes every meaningful moment from your day.
Unedited images, test shots, closed eyes, duplicates, misfires, and RAWs remain the property of the studio and are not available for release.

Do you post online?

YES, we will showcase your pictures and utilize them for advertising purposes. Additionally, we may share sneak peeks and tag you accordingly. However, we typically wait a few days after you have received all your photos before posting them, whether in full or in part, on social media. Additionally, you have the option to opt out, your privacy is important to us and if you prefer not to have the images shared on social media, we fully respect your decision. Additionally, we would like to clarify that not every photoshoot will be shared, and this does not guarantee that we will post some or all of your photos on social media.
